Citrin Foundation is a unique charity organization focused on addressing citrin deficiency, a rare disease affecting millions globally. As an Asia-based foundation, we are entirely self-funded, allowing us to maintain a laser-like focus on developing effective cures. With a commitment of US$20 million, we have established a global network of researchers, led by Nobel Laureate Sir John Walker and Professor Takeyori Saheki, 'the father of citrin deficiency.' Our efforts include funding research projects at leading institutions worldwide, such as Cambridge University, Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, Kagoshima University Graduate School, Duke-NUS Medical School, and Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. We provide end-to-end support to patients and their families, including funding for basic science and medical research, establishment of a global physician network, and patient support services.
