The firm is based in Singapore. The essence of the firm name draws from abstract existence of the energy from the rising sun, thereby with the symbolic number 9 uniting a team of dedicated professional architects, designers and managers. E9AP's portfolio of works includes master planning, residential, commercial office, retail, institution, hotel, interior design, and graphic design. Projects are located in Singapore, Malaysia, and India. Ms Betsy Lau Chuk Kwan (MSc City Planning, BArch, MSIA, AIA, RIBA) is the principal of the firm, having over 14 years in the practice of planning and architecture with experience on a wide range of projects. Betsy has worked in various cities including London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore on different projects located in London, New York, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, and India. Betsy completed her studies in New York, USA and United Kingdom with Master of Science Degree in City Planning and Bachelor of Architecture Degree, graduating with the best student award. Betsy is a registered Architect in New York State, USA and Singapore. She is also a corporate member of American Institute of Architects (AIA), Singapore Institute of Architects (MSIA), and associate member of Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
