PT. Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Persero), also known as BKI is a State Owned Company, since the beginning 58 years ago, the purpose of BKI establishment is to support international independence of national shipping industries and sea transportation through Classification Service and other services related in the wake of giving priority the securing safety of life, any object at sea as well as protecting the environment by means of the development and implementation of ship standards and any other floating facilities. Nowdays in line with BKI business development as a state entity, beside the above mentioned activities shall meant Classification Services, BKI has also make a diversification in developing non classification services, namely Consultancy & Supervision services and even now Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia has grown up as the one of prominent of Indonesian Technical Inspection Agencies for Industrial purpose particularly for safety aspect. Therefore BKI currently performing 2 (two) kind of business; the business of classification & statutory and the business of Supervision and Consultancy. As per Desember 16, 2021, BKI incorporated in Holding of States Owned Enterprise on Survey Services with PT Superintending Company of Indonesia and PT Surveyor Indonesia.
